Are you bored during this Fall season? Check out this guide to having a fun, action-packed couple of months filled with friends, family, food, and festive fun!
TRY AN ESCAPE ROOM
Still, holding on to those Halloween freaks and frights? Well, an escape room is the perfect way to Purge all of your remaining Halloween spirit. An escape room is an adventure simulation in which participants are locked in a themed room and challenged to solve puzzles, riddles, and clues to escape the room. While some rooms have spookier themes like a murderer's basement or an insane asylum, others are more strategy-based with military and Illuminati themes. Popular rooms are “The Basement LA” in Sylmar and “PanIQ” in Los Angeles. Can you escape?
VISIT A PUMPKIN PATCH
Whether you’re looking for jack o'lanterns, the perfect recipe for a Friendsgiving pumpkin pie, or just for finding some festive fall decorations, visiting a pumpkin patch is the perfect activity to put you in the warm and cozy fall mood. Not only can you frolic through the patch taking perfect, aesthetically-pleasing Instagram pics (yeah, we know), there is fun for everyone with corn mazes, petting zoos, apple cider, pie, and more. Visit one around L.A. like Lopez Ranch Pumpkin Patch.
BAKE A PUMPKIN PIE
Cinnamon, pumpkin, and nutmeg: name a more iconic trio, I dare you. What says fall more than sugar, spice, and everything nice? A pumpkin pie is the perfect dessert to enjoy with family and friends and is super simple to make. All you need is pre-made pie crust, pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a little bit of fall spirit. Bake one at home and post a pic on Instagram tagging @beautifulbizarremag. We want to see your creations!
HOST A FRIENDSGIVING
What better way to deal with all of those Thanksgiving leftovers— you know, the extra turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce— than to host a Friendsgiving? A Friendsgiving is an event in which one person invites all of their friends over to their house to have a potluck-style Thanksgiving feast. Everybody brings one dish, and it is usually hosted the day after Thanksgiving, as the day of is reserved for family. Together, you can celebrate each other, coming together, and turducken (a turkey stuffed inside a duck, stuffed inside a chicken).
MAKE YOUR FALL BUCKET LIST
Take a drive to see the changing leaves (out of L.A. obviously), candle shop at Bath and Body Works (Sweater Weather and Leaves, of course), decorate your porch with pumpkins and scarecrows, bake pumpkin bread, go for a walk on a nice foggy morning, drink your Starbucks pumpkin spice (venti, soy, with no whip), or go apple-picking with the whole family. Whatever it is, this fall season it’s time to put down those leftover Halloween kit kats and start making that fall bucket list. It’s really that simple: Get out of the house and out into the cold 57 degree weather! Yeah, I know it's cold, put on a jacket!
