The open road with nowhere to be.

  2. What is your greatest fear?

The open road with nowhere to be.

  3. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

There is no need for one to deplore one’s self.

  4. What is the trait you most deplore in others?

I do not deplore anything about people in particular but I do have an aversion to tardiness.

  5. Which living person do you most admire?

Joni Mitchell is my living inspiration. My mind revolves around her words and her journey.

Every few months or so I spend $150-200 getting my hair professionally styled. It is for the purposes of beauty so I consider it extravagance for a cause.

  7. What is your current state of mind?

    Relaxed.

  8. What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

I have never found it interesting when someone centers their entire personality around being “pure” or restrictively “kind.” There is an underbelly to us all and to consider purity a virtue is to deny the existence of that underbelly.

  9. On what occasion do you lie?

“Do you know how fast you were going?”

    Not a thing.

  12. What is the quality you most like in a [person]?

Passion and heart. I cherish those who live their lives authentically.

  13. What is [another] quality you most like in a [person]?

There are certain people I can just sit in silence with. Those I connect with the most are comfortable just being in my presence, and me, theirs.

    “True, True”

I have never been in love.

  16. When and where were you happiest?

    I’m not sure, yet.

  17. Which talent would you most like to have?

I wish I could sing. It would make car rides and road trips and showers and shows a lot more enjoyable.

  18. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would not change a single thing.

  19. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Walking out the door in high heels and lipstick is an achievement unto itself.

  20. If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?

I'd like to come back as Joni again. Give it another go.

  21. Where would you most like to live?

Throughout Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, there are small pockets of land filled with large, diverse populations of people. Above that land, there are canyons that twist and turn from one pocket to another. I want to live in those canyons and twist and turn.

  22. What is your most treasured possession?

My dad gave me a silver, chain bracelet he used to wear. I lost it while running around the city.

  23. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Loss of love or life. Even worse, the loss of hope.

  24. What is your favorite occupation?

I think it would be really fun and silly to be a school music teacher.

Joni Mitchell is not just a lyricist. She is not just a storyteller. She is the storyteller.

I’ve always preferred the villains. Who doesn't wish they could be the Evil Queen or the Wicked Stepmother or the Witch from the West?

  29. Which historical figure do you most identify with?

Since I first saw Migrant Mother, I have never forgotten the look in her eyes and the way she held her children.

  30. Who are your heroes in real life?

My grandmother for her eternal kindness, generosity, and sketched-on, red eyebrows.

  31. What are your favorite names?

    Joni, Sam.

  32. What is it that you most dislike?

An empty tank of gas. Getting gas is honestly horrible. How boring!

  33. What is your greatest regret?

I do not live with my life carrying around bags of regrets. How could I carry my purse? See Question 35.

  34. How would you like to die?

I hope it’s by my own design. Perhaps Thelma and Louise style?

  35. What is your motto?

And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look
    Behind from where we came
And go round and round and round
    In the circle game.-Joni Mitchell
