SONG
“Baby It’s Cold Outside”
Picture it: It’s December 2010. You’re 11, closeted, and cold. Snuggled up on the couch you flip on the Glee Christmas Special and see Darren Chris and Chris Colfer romantically serenade each other with “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” A single tear rolls down your cheek. Flash forward. It’s December 2019. You’re 18, gay, and still cold and that tear has not left your face. “Baby it’s Cold Outside (Glee).” is simply the most excellent holiday song of our generation. It’s soft and sweet and just so gay. It is the perfect song to keep you warm on those lonely December nights. Or those lonely March nights. Or those lonely July nights. Just stream it, okay?
FOOD
Starbucks’ London Fog Tea Latte
When you think of holiday foods you might think of candy canes, pumpkin pie, or gingerbread cookies, but, when I think of the holiday season I immediately think of this warm and inviting drink. While it might seem like a basic holiday drink, this perfect blend of earl grey tea and milk instantly calls to me. Not only does it make me want to curl up next to a fireplace, but, this drink immediately transports me to the cold and snowy weather that we all love. So, If you’re looking for the classic holiday flavor infused into an easily accessible drink, I highly recommend the London Fog Tea Latte.
ACTIVITY
Being an LA kid in Boston
Yea. That’s the activity. Since moving to Boston from Los Angeles, just having to endure this weather is exhausting enough let alone snowball fights and snow angels. I bought my coats and hats and gloves and I’m ready for the snow. I’m sure the local Bostonians will guide me along through the winter wonderland and help me get in the spirit!
MOVIE
“How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
This wacky and feel-good film is sure to bring the holiday cheer to your living room. Portraying the quintessential Dr. Seuss story we all know and love, this movie perfectly represents the colorful decorations, gift giving, and joyful feeling in the air that we look forward to every year. So, gather around the TV, snuggle up under a warm blanket by the fireplace, and watch this classic Christmas movie that is sure to transport you straight to the snow capped hills and pine tree forested landscape of Seuss’s Whoville.
FASHION
Holiday sweater!
It’s time to break out your best (and ugliest) holiday sweater’s in order to fit into this season’s trends. Whether it’s decorated with dreidels for Hanukkah, a tree for Christmas, a snowy Winter scene, or just the classic holiday plaid, with your sweater you’re bound to fit into any event. I know sweaters are my comfiest thing to wear during the holidays and I’m sure to be busting out my favorites this season, and you should too!
